AVP: The Hunt Begins was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign by British miniatures company Prodos Games in November 2013. Prodos secured a license from 20th Century Fox to produce the game, but ran into approval issues which delayed production and caused the Kickstarter page to be blocked, with only a statement “Alien vs Predator: The Miniatures Game is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.” According to updates on the game’s Facebook page, those issues have been resolved.Ninja Division was not part of the Kickstarter or game production, a Ninja Division representative told ICv2. Ninja Division recently signed on to fulfill the Kickstarter in the U.S., and handle trade distribution in the U.S. for Prodos.
