Fans of the original 1980s cartoon and doll line were underwhelmed by the first trailer (see “First 'Jem and the Holograms' Trailer”), and while this second doesn’t move the bar much, at least it does feature an incarnation of Synergy, the computer invention left to Jerrica Benton by her late father.

Hardcore Jem fans will likely have to content themselves with the much more faithful IDW Comic series (see “'Jem and the Holograms' Comic”).

The film releases in theaters on October 23.
