Heavy Metal Media has announced a comic book tie-in to the upcoming UK sci-fi movie Narcopolis.  The Narcopolis: Continuum miniseries will launch digitally in September, with print release scheduled for November.

The T Squared Films thriller is set in the near future, where all classes of drugs have been legalized, and an elite unit of the police force works to keep black market dealers from co-opting licensed drug companies’ products.  But when Officer Frank Grieves is pulled off a murder investigation which involves a new street drug, he’s thrown into a conspiracy involving the drug companies and the high price for legalization.

The four-issue miniseries is a stand-alone companion story to the movie, written by Scott Duvall, with art by Ralf Singh. According to THR, the comic will focus on the movie protagonist’s son Ben, who invents a drug that allows him to travel back in time, which he uses to try to piece together his father’s disappearance 20 years before.

The movie is written and directed by Justin Trefgarne, and stars Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci's Demons), Elodie Yung (Marvel’s Daredevil), James Callis (Battlestar Galactica), Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean), Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey), and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones). The film will be released in the U.S. by IFC Midnight in September.
