Tokaido: Matsuri is an expansion for the popular pilgrimage game. The expansion adds new cards and tokens to the game which modify the way each section of the road can be played. Much like the Crossroads expansion, this adds more strategy and depth to the overall journey. The game is planned for Q4 release. MSRP is $25.00.
Also planned for Q4 release is Tokaido Collector’s Edition. The game will feature an all-new board, which includes the Crossroads expansion as part of it. Tokaido publisher FunForge Kickstarted a deluxe edition, but Reynolds said the retail Collector’s Edition will include different components. MSRP was not announced.
Apollo XIII is a cooperative card-drafting game that tells the story of the historic space mission. The game is produced by Italian publisher Pendragon Game Studio. Players must coordinate their actions as they face all the disasters that plagued the ill-fated mission to the Moon. The game also has an optional competitive mode if players wan a more difficult experience. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 45 -75 minutes. MSRP and release date were not announced. FunForge’s Titan Race is a racing game where players compete on a toroidal (spherical) racing track and attempt to shoot one another while also trying to win the race. Players roll dice which offer different effects for movement and shooting other players, and there are effects cards which can add protections, tricks or unusual abilities. MSRP is $30.00. Reynolds also said Passport has partnered with Polish game company Granna to publish CV this fall. “It’s kind of like The Game of Life for adults,“ Reynolds said. The name, “CV” stands for “Curriculum Vitae,” an overview of a person’s life and experience, similar to a resume. Players guide their character through their entire life, making decisions about careers, relationships, interests, and life goals using cards and dice. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 60 – 90 minutes. MSRP is $35.00. In September, Passport will release two expansions for Hansa Teutonica (see “'Versailles,' 'Progress,' and 'Hansa Teutonica'”). The East expansion includes nine mission cards for the basic map, each of which includes three cities, which can be used to gain additional victory points. There is also a new map, which introduces new items to the game including ocean trade routes and permanent bonus markers. The Britannia expansion includes a new map of Britannia and revised two-player rules, which include special permissions in Carlisle, Cardiff, and London. MSRP is $15.00 each.
