Flesk Publications has announced new titles from Steve Rude, Wendi Pini, and Bill Carman for Q4 release: Nexus Chronicles, Imagery from the Bird’s Home: The Art of Bill Carman, and The Art of Elfquest.

Steve “The Dude” Rudes’s Nexus series has endured for more than 30 years. The 304-page Nexus Chronicles collects original art for eight of Rude’s favorites including: Nexus: Wages of Sin #1, Next Nexus #1, Nexus #50 and the eight-page “All in Sundra” story, and the unpublished Nexus #99. The book includes pencil versions and inked finals of various stories as well as concept drawings and more.  There is also an expanded interview with the artist, and photographs by Greg Preston showing him at work.  MSRP is $50.00. Release is planned for October 13.

Imagery from the Bird’s Home: The Art of Bill Carman is a collection of the surrealist artist’s sketches, drawings and paintings which pair absurd animals and vehicles with normal everyday surroundings.  Many paintings in the collection were for commissions, galleries, and personal work; and they are highlighted by captions and sketchbook accents. The 192-page book is available in both a regular hardcover ($40.00) and limited edition ($50.00) which includes 16 bonus pages.  Release is planned for October 13.

The Art of Elfquest is a hardcover collection of artist Wendi Pini’s Elfquest art, including a complete overview of the very best artwork of nearly 40 years. There are covers, interior pages from the comics, calendar and portfolio shots, coloring book images, and novel illustrations. There are also interviews and captions from Wendy and her husband-collaborator Richard Pini.  The 304-page collection has MSRP is $50.00. Release is planned for December 1.

The Art of Elfquest is also the subject of a current Kickstarter campaign dedicated to three upcoming collections of Pini’s work: Art of Elfquest, Elfquest: The Art of the Story, and Line of Beauty: The Art of Wendy Pini. The Kickstarter’s goal is to fund exclusive deluxe editions of each book. The campaign has already surpassed $25,000 goal, and has raised nearly $60,000 from more than 250 backers, and will run through October 1. Regular trade editions of Elfquest: The Art of the Story and Line of Beauty will release in May and September 2016 respectively.
