Zack Snyder, director of the Warner Bros. adaptation of Alan Moore’s Watchmen has been meeting with HBO to discuss plans for a TV series based on the DC property, Collider is reporting.

There was no additional information on whether the meeting involved re-adapting the original graphic novel or the more recent 2012 prequel Before Watchmen series ( DC Execs on Comics at Midyear”); or if the talks were fruitful.

With most networks boasting at least one comic superhero-based show on their roster, and Netflix set to launch the second of four planned  Marvel-related shows next month (see “Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage Netflix Series” and “Jessica Jones Doesn't Give a Damn about her Reputation”), it may be that HBO is looking to capitalize on the trend with a high profile (and more adult-oriented) property of their own.
