The U.K.’s Channel 4 has obtained TV rights to Butterfly, the Archaia graphic novel created by screenwriter Arash Amel, according to Deadline.  The new series will be written by Amel, and the pilot, at least, will be directed by Bo Odar  Channel 4 hopes to find a U.S. network to co-produce, according to the report. 

The graphic novel, originally published as a four-issue miniseries, was released in September in hardcover by BOOM! Studios under its Archaia imprint.  The story is co-written by Amal and Marguerite Bennett, with art by Antonio Fuso. Butterfly is the code name of the lead character, a deep cover U.S. intelligence operative for Project Delta whose cover is blown as she’s set up for a murder she didn’t commit.  Her father, an ex-Project Delta operative who she hadn’t seen for 20 years, believes the Project set her up.
