Steve Jackson Games released its annual Report to Stakeholders for 2014 this week (yes, a lot later than usual), and revealed that its sales for 2014 were $8.5 million, down $300,000 from 2013, but up $500,000 over 2013 when the impact of the nearly $1 million in Kickstarter revenues (Ogre) is excluded. Munchkin, of course, was the company’s largest line, but Zombie Dice, powered by its TableTop appearance, accounted for 7.4% of distribution sales for the year.
In addition to its own Munchkin games, the company noted its licensed products from Fireside, AEG, and USAopoly and their impact on the brand’s visibility.
As usual, the company detailed its successes and failures in achieving its goals, noting its success in releasing new Munchkin products (and keeping core products in print) as pluses, and the inability to fulfill all of its Ogre Kickstarter commitments the biggest failure.
(Adjusted for Kickstarter)
