Steve Jackson Games will produce a board game based on the hit 1989 comedy film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Boardgame, like the movie, follows the wacky adventures of the titular duo as they use a time-travelling phone booth to collect famous “historical personages” and bring them to San Dimas High School in time to pass their all-important oral history report.  But each time a player moves through time, the phone booth is damaged, possibly sending the player somewhere unexpected.

The game will include 1 game board, 60 cards, 36 tokens, and 6 stand-up counters.  It was designed by Samuel Mitschke (Mars Attacks: The Dice Game, Hipster Dice) and Randy Scheunemann, and was illustrated by Len Peralta.  MSRP is $19.95. Release date was not announced.

The property has seen renewed interest on the comic book side as well, with BOOM! Comics recently announcing a new miniseries (see “Bill and Ted Save Death From Hell”).
