Gen Con announced it will expand event space for its 2016 convention into the Indianapolis Lucas Oil Stadium.

The stadium’s exhibition space will house several larger Gen Con events including the True Dungeon events. “Gen Con has grown to host nearly 200,000 turnstile attendees, and it is evident that we have to accelerate our growth plans to meet attendee, exhibitor, and event organizer demand,” said Adrian Swartout, Gen Con CEO/Owner. “Expansion into Lucas Oil Stadium allows Gen Con to keep offering more gaming, exhibition, and entertainment options each year.”

Last year Gen Con hosted a record number of events (14,000+), exhibitors (400+), and 61,423 unique attendees (see “Gen Con Up 9%”).

Lucas Oil Stadium is the home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, and features a retractable roof and multi-purpose seating for more than 67,000 event attendees. The site has hosted multiple Big Ten Football Championship Games and NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Championships, and was also the site of Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.
