Marvel will celebrate Captain America’s 75th Anniversary in March with a free commemorative Captain America 75th Anniversary Magazine and an extra-large Captain America: Sam Wilson #7.

The free Captain America 75th Anniversary Magazine will be written by John Rhett Thomas and feature covers by John Byrne, Jack Kirby and Alex Ross.  The 96-page magazine will feature a guide to Cap’s friends and foes from his complete history, an in-depth look at the iconic costume, and showcase features on some of the Sentinel of Liberty’s most prominent creators : John Romita Sr., Mark Gruenwald, Mark Waid and  Jack Kirby.  The magazine releases on March 30.

Special edition versions of the magazine featuring covers by Byrne, Kirby or Ross are also available for order for $9.99.  Distribution information (and cover) for the free edtion has not yet been released.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #7 will tie in with the Avengers: Standoff crossover event (see “ Marvel Announces First Major 2016 Crossover Event”), which prominently features Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes in the story. The main issue is written by Nick Spencer, with art by Daniel Acuna, and ia main cover by Alex Ross.  Ross will also do a variant cover, along with additional covers by John Cassaday, Jim Steranko, and a “Captain America Of All Eras” variant by Chris Sprouse.

The 56-page issue will also include bonus stories by Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins; Tim Sale; and John Cassaday.  MSRP is $5.99.
