Rio Grande has announced two new games for Q1 from designers new to the tabletop industry, Tiffin by Jonathan Hager and Rael Dornfest; and Coal Country by Kane M. Click.
Tiffin is a fast-paced, resource-delivery game set in Mumbai, the capital city of India. Rio Grande's official description of the game, with packages "whisked off by bicycle to the train station,, evokes a frenetic energy that makes sense upon learning the game's two designers, Hager and Dornfest, have a background in iOS games. Tiffin is for 2 - 4 players, age 14 and up, with a length of 30 to 60 minutes. MSRP was not announced.
Coal Country is an economic game where you play the boss of a mining company sending your foremen off to corruptly influence the coal market. As the market shifts from the actions of other players and from outside forces, savvy players need to act wisely to both maximize profits and avoid fines from inspectors. The game is for 2 - 4 players, age 14 and up, with a length of 45 to 90 minutes. MSRP was not announced.Rio Grande has had several recent critical successes for their games, with several being listed among the best games of the year by The San Francisco Chronicle (see “Two 'Best New Games of 2015' Lists”).
