BOOM! Studios has announced that it will launch an ongoing comic series based on the Cartoon Network animated miniseries Over the Garden Wall under its KaBOOM! imprint, according to Entertainment Weekly.  The series will be written by Jim Campbell and show writer Amalia Levari, with art by Campbell and Cara McGee.  Each issue of the new series will feature two stories.

After a quick sell-out and escalating aftermarket prices on a one-shot tied to the airing of the CN miniseries, BOOM! announced a miniseries (see "'Over the Garden Wall' Comics"), which came out last fall.  The series debuted with initial North American sales of around 11,200 to comic stores, and ended with sales of around 6,700 on #4 (see "Top 300 Comics--November 2015").  Those are not huge numbers, but the title’s sell-through has been solid and the material undoubtedly has a bigger, better future ahead in trade paperback form.
