Advanced Marketing Services, the book distributor that includes Publishers Group West in its portfolio, has delayed the filing of its 10-Q quarterly report for the second time due to the federal investigation of the company (see 'Book Distributor Raided by Feds').  The AMS announcement stated that its accounting firm needed more time to review the company's 'advertising services.' 

 

AMS believes the federal investigation into its affairs to be limited in scope to its advertising services, according to the announcement, '...and is focused on the distribution of various advertising vehicles and the treatment of coop advertising funds.'
