Renegade Game Studios and Foxtrot Games has announced plans to co-release World’s Fair 1893, designed by J. Alex Kevern (Gold West, Daxu), in May.
Set in the international exhibition that took place in Chicago during that year, World’s Fair 1893 puts players in the role of fair organizers, competing for influence over the venue by attracting the best exhibitions. Over three scoring rounds, players earn points for gathering supporters and selling tickets. The leaders in each area of the fair then get approval for their exhibit proposals, which award points at the end of the game.
Worlds Fair 1893 includes a Ferris Wheel board, 91 cards, 88 cubes, 50 exhibit approvals, 40 exhibits, 40 leader medals, 32 coins, 28 tickets, 23 influential figures, 5 area tiles, 4 player aids, 4 scoring reference cards, and 1 phase tracker. The game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in about 40 minutes. MSRP is $40.00.
Renegade announced the cooperative building game Brick Party for summer release (see "Renegade Brings 'Brick Party' to North America").
