A British actor-comedian has been chosen to play the title character in the pilot for the Amazon revival of
The Tick TV series (see "
A New Run at 'The Tick' Series”). Peter Serafinowicz, who played Denarian Garthan Saal in
Guardians of the Galaxy and Pete in
Shaun of the Dead, will play The Tick, according to
Deadline.
Serafinowicz also has a raft of geek TV and film voice work, including
Archer, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Axe Cop, and the voice of
Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.
Star of the original series Patrick Warburton is expected to exec produce the new version.
