The 3D city-building boardgame Santorini is scheduled to release this November from Roxley Game Laboratory.

Originally self-published in 2004, Santorini is the brain-child of mathematician Dr. Gordon Hamilton (12 Days of Christmas).  In this game, players act as Greek gods and goddesses guiding the construction of a city on the island of Santorini.  Each deity has their own unique “godly power,” which allows them a special ability to use during the game.

The game features a set of detailed three-dimensional building pieces, used to construct the city over the course of the game.  The first player to successfully move their builder pawn to the top of a three-level building wins the game.

Santorini comes with 1 plastic pedestal to support the island board, 72 plastic building pieces, 6 sculpted builder figures, and 30 godly powers cards.  The game is designed for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes. MSRP is $49.99.

An expansion set, called Santorini:  The Golden Fleece will also be available, adding 20 additional gods and some additional components.  MSRP is $18.00.

Roxley Games is funding the production through Kickstarter.  Its campaign reached a total of $430,108 from 5,988 backers (an average of $71.83 per backer) with about a day left.  Backer fulfillment is planned for November, with release into the trade about four weeks later.
