ICv2 has learned Ninja Division will release the miniatures skirmish game Load to North American trade in 2017. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

The title Load stands for “League of Ancient Defenders.”  The two-team skirmish board game has one team take the role of the defenders of the island kingdom of Atlantis, while the other team takes the role of the forces of Chaos. Both teams attempt to destroy key enemy objectives, towers, and spawn points to force the other team into full retreat.

The box contains 69 miniatures (including heroes, protectors, skirmishers, runners and regulars), 12 character cards, 65 item cards, 50 forest cards, 120 various tokens, 12 dice, a game board and a rulebook. MSRP has not been announced, but the basic pledge level is $99.00. There is no retailer level.  The game is for 2 - 6 players, and plays in 30 – 90 minutes. Backer fulfillment is planned for December with trade release to follow.

The Kickstarter has raised nearly $184,000 for more than 1,600 backers as of this writing, with 19 days to go.
