Topps released direct-to-consumer trading cards tied to the first episode of AMC’s new Preacher series only hours after the episode aired.  Five physical cards have been offered for sale via the company website for 24 hours beginning at noon on May 23; the first episode aired the evening of May 22.  The five cards are retailing for $19.99, including shipping.

Topps Now, the company’s new program of trading cards released the day after a memorable event, debuted with Major League Baseball in April; Preacher is the first entertainment property.  Topps Now cards will be released for each episode of Preacher on the same schedule.

Topps plans a full set of Preacher trading cards to be released to the trade after the season ends.

The AMC Preacher series is based on the Vertigo comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.
