Mayday Games has announced a June 15 release date for its dexterity-based card game Garbage Day, which will be accompanied by four expansion sets and seven custom playmats.
Mayday announced its trash stacking game last year (see “‘Garbage Day’”), which involves players stacking piles of cards on top of a plastic garbage can, hoping to avoid being the one to add the card that causes the pile to collapse.
Garbage Day will be packaged in a self-standing plastic clam shell with a peg-board hook cutout to allow retailers to display the game in different ways. MSRP is $21.95.
There will be four expansions to support the release of the game, each offering a different theme:The Smelly Expansion includes 21 new cards. MSRP is $8.95.
The Office Expansion, Family Expansion, and Dorm Room Expansion each include 16 new cards. MSRP is $7.95 each.
Players can also buy thematic play-mats to set their garbage cans on, each sold separately. The options are the Kitchen Playmat, MSRP $14.95, or Space Room, Rock/Music Room, Animal Room, Game Room, Sports Room, or Pink Room, each MSRP $9.95.Mayday funded the production of Garbage Day through a Kickstarter campaign that attracted $52,945 in pledged support from 2,058 backers (an average of $25.73 per backer).
