An original X-Wing fighter model from Star Wars: A New Hope is one of the key pieces from the next Profiles in History Hollywood Auction, which runs June 29 - July 1. The model is from the collection of Grant McCune, who was Chief Model Marker on the Miniature and Optical Effects Unit. It’s big, 22” x 18”, and was assembled from parts of blown-up fighters used in the assault on the Death Star. Expected price is $150,000 to $250,000.
Another big movie piece is the screen-used T-800 costume worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It comes with lots of accessories, including a Stan Winston animatronic head, and the sawed-off prop shotgun Schwarzenegger used in the film, all on a display mannequin.
The auction also includes over 100 Bettie Page pieces from photographer Irving Klaw, including some photographic negatives with copyright. But perhaps the most iconic piece is these custom made leather pumps, commissioned by Klaw and worn by Page in numerous photos. The style is now known as the Bettie Page. They’re expected to go for the bargain price of $2000-$3000.
