Comic-Con News:  Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Party and the first major party female candidate in American history, will be making an appearance in Valiant Comics’ Faith #5, a 48-page election special issue written by Louise Simonson and drawn by Pere Perez that is due in stores on November 2, 2016, just six days prior to the November 8th election.  Faith, the positive-thinking superheroine was created by Jim Shooter and David Lapham as part of the Harbinger superteam of outcast teens in the 1990s, but she has come into her own in 2016 thanks to the highly successful debut of her stand-alone series in January (see “Preview: Faith #1” and “Review: Faith #1 Hollywood & Vine TP”).

In the Simonson’s election story Faith’s straight job as a blogger/journalist brings her into contact with our country’s first female presidential candidate, but it will be her superhero alter ego (Zephyr) who will be called on to save the day in this “ripped-from-the-headlines” saga.  In addition to Clinton’s landmark appearance in Simonson’s story, Faith #5 also includes the start of an all-new ongoing story arc by Judy Houser (with art by Hetrick), plus a preview of Harbinger: Renegades #1 by Rafer Roberts and Colleen Doran.

Valiant is planning three different covers for Faith #5, one by Eisner Award artist Paolo Rivera, one by Harvey nominee Clayton Henry, and one by the new ongoing Faith interior artist Meghan Hetrick.
