Adult Swim’s Toonami will air the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime beginning in October.
The news was announced by Jason DeMarco, Vice President and Creative Director, On-Air for Adult Swim on Twitter. The genre-mixing, decades-long story follows wealthy young Jonathan Joestar and his adoptive brother Dio Brando, who uses a stone mask to become a powerful vampire in order to get the leverage to control the family fortune.
VIZ Media began releasing the manga in the U.S. in 2015 (see “Review: 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 1--Phantom Blood' Vol. 1 HC (Manga)”). Warner Bros. released the first season of the anime in 2015 as well (see “'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' Anime Set for July”).
