Next February, Mayday Games will release Isle of Monsters, a new family-friendly game of monster training.
Set on a forgotten tropical paradise, Isle of Monsters challenges players to create and train the scariest monsters they can to help protect the island from the outside world. The game features set collection and resource management mechanics. Players capture animals from the wild, feed them food gathered from the islands, and raises them to be scary monsters that can compete in the periodic “Scare Faires.” The player who can create the scariest monsters wins the game.
Isle of Monsters includes 45 wooden food tokens, 6 island boards, 5 cage boards, 40 creature cards, 150 scare tokens, and 1 bag. The game is designed for 2 to 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in about half an hour. MSRP is $30.00.Mayday is funding the project through a Kickstarter campaign that has attracted over $22,000 in pledged support from more than 700 backers, with eight days remaining. The campaign also includes a retailer-only package that offers early shipment and a free demo copy with purchase of nine copies of the game.
