WizKids will release two versions of the Dungeons & Dragons board game Assault of the Giants: Standard and Premium.

The game was announced in June when Wizards of the Coast revealed the Storm King’s Thunder storyline (see “WizKids Goes Giant for 'D&D'”). The original solicitation called for a $100.00 price point, but now WizKids is offering two options, Dungeons & Dragons: Assault of the Giants Board Game – Standard Edition has an MSRP of $79.99 and Premium Edition has an MSRP of $129.99. The difference is if the giants miniatures are painted or single color.

The game is designed by Andrew Parks.  Players take the role of giants, which are controlled by command cards.  Players can attack villages or other giants, recruit new giants, or pursue agendas unique to their race. 

The game is for 3 – 6 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 2 hours. Release is planned for March 2017.
