Players take on the role of nobles at a banquet trying to fulfill a personal vendetta. Each player has wine, poison, and an antidote, as well as a special ability to bend or break the normal rules of the game. Enmity and vendetta is public, and everyone in the game has a known enemy they want dead; surviving the round scores you one point, the death of your enemy another point, and if both come to pass, an extra point. Players replace their dead nobles, and after three rounds, whoever has the highest score wins.
