Max Bemis and Jorge Coelho’s graphic novel Polarity has been optioned for a television adaptation by Fox 21, The Wrap is reporting.

Polarity was written by Bemis (lead singer for Say Anything) and drawn by Coelho (The Haunted Mansion, John Flood) and released by BOOM! Studios in 2013. The story follows Timothy Woods, a bi-polar artist in New York City who discovers that he manifests super powers when he stops taking his medication.

The pilot will be written by Max Winkler and Matt Spicer, the team that was recently hired to write Disney’s planned Rocketeer reboot (see “Disney Planning 'Rocketeer' Reboot”). Winkler will also direct the pilot. The project will be executive produced by BOOM!’s Ross Richie and Stephen Christy and Walcott Entertainment’s Jason Carden. The project will be co-executive produced by BOOM!’s Josh Levy.
