Syfy has announced additional cast members for Krypton, the channel’s new series set on Superman’s home planet two generations before its destruction, according to Deadline.

Ian McElhinney (Barristan Selmy, Game of Thrones), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Ann Ogbomo (World War Z), Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness), Wallis Day (The Royals), and Aaron Pierre (Tennison) will be joining series lead Georgina Campbell, who is playing Lyta Zod, daughter of General Alura Zod (see “'Krypton' Casts Its Female Lead”). As reported previously by Deadline, Cameron Cuffe will play lead opposite Campbell as Superman’s grandfather Seg-El.

McElhinney will play Seg-El’s grandfather Val-El, a scientific genius who vainly tries to warn his fellow Kryptonians about a pending threat. Cowan is cast as Daron Vex, the Chief Magistrate of Kandor who works to silence dissidence against Krypton’s ruling elite. Ogbomo plays Lyta Zod’s mother, Alura. Hardiker will play Seg-El’s best friend Kem, a brilliant engineer. Day is playing Daron Vex’s daughter Nyssa, a junior magistrate. Finally, Pierre will play Dev-Em, a cadet under the command of Alura Zod.

The pilot, which will be filmed in Serbia, was greenlit in May (see “Syfy Greenlights 'Krypton'”).
