Dabel Brothers Publishing will adapt bestselling fantasy author Michael J. Sulivan’s third novel in the Riyria Chronicles series, The Death of Dulgath, into a graphic novel.
The graphic novel will be adapted by Dabel Brothers Publisher Derek Ruiz (Dean Koontz's Fear Nothing) and illustrated by Max Raynor (The Avengers). The full-color hardcover graphic novel will be available in June 2017. MSRP is $24.99.
The Death of Dulgath is a stand-alone novel in Sullivan’s high-fantasy Riyria books. It follows mercenary Hadrain and ex-assassin Royce as they attempt to protect the last member of the oldest noble family in Avryn.
Dabel Brothers Publishing specializes in graphic novel adaptations of high-profile authors, including work by Robert Silverberg, Dean Koontz, George R.R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword (see "January BookScan--Top 20 Graphic Novels"), and Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series (see “Dabel Bros. Plan 'Dark-Hunter' Comics, Graphic Novel, Manga, Coloring Book”).
The graphic novel will be funded via Kickstarter. The project has earned $22,000 of the $25,000 goal from 450 backers and has 23 days left in the campaign. The novel itself was funded on Kickstarter, becoming one of the most backed fiction projects ever on the platform.
