The scenes are set to Johnny Cash’s melancholy cover of Nine Inch Nail’s “Hurt.” Set sometime in the future, both Wolverine and Professor X have aged significantly, and they are on a quest to protect young mutant Laura from being kidnapped by Pierce and his force of Reavers (see “'Logan' Image Reveals Villainous Group”).
UPDATE: Fox has also shared a Red Band international version of the trailer, which has some explicit violence at 1:28. (The movie is rated R.)
The movie opens in theaters on March 3, 2017.
