Bryan Singer, the cinematic powerhouse behind many of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films, will now be bringing his talents to the small screen for Fox’s upcoming X-Men pilot, THR is reporting.
Singer directed X-Men, X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse; and has writing and production credits on several X-Men movies as well. Singer was already signed on to executive produce for this still untitled project (see “Fox Picks Up Marvel 'X-Men' Series”). Singer also has experience directing television shows including episodes for House and Battle Creek. Matt Nix (Burn Notice, APB) is writing the script, and will serve as showrunner if the drama is picked up.
Marvel Comics is launching new X-Men titles in April (see “'X-Men Gold' and 'X-Men Blue' Revealed”) with several solo series to follow including a new Weapon X ongoing (see "Greg Pak Reveals 'Weapon X' Details"), a new series for Jean Grey (see "Marvel Reveals Team, Theme for 'Jean Grey'"), Generation X (see "Marvel Resurrects 'Generation X' in New Ongoing"), and Iceman (see "Marvel Reveals Details for New 'Iceman'").
