CBS has shared a new behind-the-scenes trailer for Star Trek: Discovery which offers a first glimpse of the show’s sets, costumes, and more.

The video begins with an historic montage of what Star Trek is, then announces “production has begun on the next chapter,” followed by shots of set building, an actor being fitted in a Federation uniform, blueprints and computer models of the new ship, and a teaser look at the captain’s chair.

Production started in late January (see “'Star Trek: Discovery' Starts Production Next Week”). The series finally cast Sonequa Martin-Green in the lead role in December (see “'Star Trek: Discovery' Lead Cast”) after a myriad of delays (see “'Star Trek: Discovery' Delayed”).

CBS is currently eying a May launch date, but the network also said that is “flexible.”
