Streaming anime provider Crunchyroll is partnering with Screenvision Media and KAOS Connect to host a series of seasonal live screening events at theaters nationwide.

The Anime Movie Night, Presented by Crunchyroll series will feature popular anime titles, both new and classic. The theatrical events will feature “anticipated” anime episodes or full-length anime movies from Japan, as well as behind-the-scenes content about the title(s) and the production process.

The first event will happen in April, with at least three additional events (one per quarter) planned for 2017. Details have not been released on the anime the first event will feature.

Crunchyroll recently partnered with FUNimation to share titles across streaming, home video, and electronic sell-through (see “Anime Market Re-Aligns - Crunchyroll and FUNimation Partner”). As part of the deal, Crunchyroll’s streaming service concentrates on subtitled anime, with FUNimation focusing on English-language dubbed streaming and home media releases. Crunchyroll will also be a title sponsor for LeftField  Media’s new Anime NYC show this year (see “LeftField Media News Round-Up”).
