First Second has revealed its fall lineup, including the latest (and in a couple of cases, the last) entries in some of their popular middle-grades series and work from comics newcomers.

Ben Hatke wraps up his Mighty Jack series with Mighty Jack and the Goblin King, which finds Jack trying to rescue his sister from a fearsome goblin king. The 208-page, full-color softcover will be in stores September 5. MSRP is $14.99.

On October 3, the fourth volume of Gene Luen Yang and Mike Holmes’ popular Secret Coders series, Secret Coders: Robots & Repeats, finds its heroes using their coding skills to battle their supervillainous school principal. The 96-page, two-color softcover has an MSRP of $10.99.

The latest entry in First Second’s Science Comics goes to the dogs: Science Comics: Dogs from Predator to Protector is a fact-filled look at man’s best friend from Andy Hirsch. The 128-page, full-color softcover will be in stores on October 31. MSRP is $12.99.

The world’s greatest soccer player gets a graphic novel biography in Pele: King of Soccer from writer Eddy Simon and artist Vincent Brascaglia. The 144-page, full-color softcover will be in stores on October 24. MSRP is $15.99.

Jason Shiga brings his supernatural mystery series to a close in the fourth volume of Demon. The 192-page, two-color softcover hits shelves on November 7 with an MSRP of $19.99.

Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi’s The Dam Keeper is inspired by the Oscar-nominated short film of the same name. The 160-page, full color story of Pig, who must protect his village from a dangerous fog, will be in stores on September 26. MSRP for the hardcover is $17.99.

Spinning, the debut coming-of-age memoir from Tillie Walden, captures Walden’s experience with the insular world of competitive figure skating and coming out. The 400-page, two-color softcover has an MSPR of $17.99. It will be in stores on September 12.

Alex Alice’s Castle in the Stars: The Space Race of 1869 explores the idea of a Victorian-era space race. The 64-page, full-color hardcover will be in stores September 12 and has an MSRP of $19.99.

In The Hunting Accident: A True Story of Crime & Poetry, writer David Carlson and artist Landis Blair explore the true story of Matt Rizzo, an uneducated blind criminal who received a classical education from his prison cellmate, notorious killer Nathan Leopold, Jr. The 464-page, black-and-white hardcover will be in stores on September 19. MSRP is $34.99.

Nidhi Chanani’s Pashmina tells the story of an Indian-American girl who learns about her mother’s homeland through a magical shawl. The 176-page, two-color softcover will be in stores October 3 and has an MSRP of $16.99.

Things get punny for the bunny stars of Cucumber Quest: The Doughnut Kingdom, the second volume in Gigi D.G.’s middle grades hero’s journey. The 192-page, full-color softcover has an MSRP of $14.99. It will be in stores on October 10.

Cast No Shadow from writer Nick Tapalansky and artist Anissa Espinosa explores the love between a living boy and a dead girl. The 224-page softcover will be in stores October 10. MSRP is $16.99.

Also out on October 24, Head Games from writer Craig McDonald and artist Kevin Singles is a 1950s-era noir thriller. The 176-page, two-color softcover has an MSRP of $17.99.

An aspiring young writer sets out to solve mysteries in Cici’s Journal: The Adventures of a Writer-in-Training from Joris Chamblain and Aurelie Neyret. The 160-page full-color hardcover will be in stores November 7. MSRP is $16.99.
