Comic retailer organization ComicsPRO has announced the results of the election for board of directors held at its Annual Meeting recently (see "2017 ComicsPRO Meeting Set"), as well as two awards.
The result of the election included a replacement for ComicsPRO Co-Founder Joe Field, who retired from the board last fall (see "Co-Founder Retires from ComicsPRO Board").
Steven Olsen of A Little Shop of Comics in Scotch Plains, New Jersey was elected to the board; and Peter Dolan of Main Street Comics was re-elected. The ComicsPRO Board of Directors is now:

ComicsPro also announced two awards naming people who’ve left an indelible mark on the profession of comic book specialty retailing. Karen Berger received the ComicsPRO Industry award (reported earlier, see "Karen Berger Gets Line at Dark Horse"), awarded to professionals still active in the business of comics. Other nominees for the Industry Award included Bob Overstreet, Maggie Thompson, and Bud Plant.
Darwyn Cooke, Eisner Award-winning writer and artist was awarded the ComicsPro Memorial Award, which goes to a deceased professional (Cooke passed away last year, see "R.I.P. Darwyn Cooke"). Other nominees for the Memorial Award included Steve Dillon, Don Thompson, and Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson.
