NBM’s summer slate includes biographies of Billie Holiday and Sartre, a new volume in The Louvre Collection series, a Reanud Dillies collection and more. Let’s take a look at what the publisher has in store.

In May, NBM will release Billie Holiday, a biography by Jose Munoz and Carlos Sampayo, which Publisher Terry Nantier teased in an interview last fall (see “ICV2 Interview: NBM's Terry Nantier”). The 80-page, black-and-white hardcover has an MSRP of $19.99.

In June, the latest volume in The Louvre Collection series, Etienne Davadeaou’s The Cross-Eyed Mutt, examines who decides what makes a work of art worthy of inclusion in a major museum. The 144-page, black-and-white hardcover has an MSRP of $24.99.

Sean Michael Wilson, Chie Kutsuwada, and Nami Tamura’s The Story of Lee follows a multicultural love triangle from Hong Kong to Scotland. The two-volume trade paperback set comes in at 320 black-and-white pages for an MSRP of $19.99. The set will be available in July.

The Lyrical Comics of Dillies set collects the surrealist animal comics of French master Renaud Dillies, including Abelard, Bubbles & Gondola, and Betty Blues. Available in July, the three hardcover volumes consist of 288 full-color pages for an MSRP of $49.99.

The two-volume set of Dara Mraghi and Brent Bowman’s Persia Blues explores the lives of two rebellious young women who share the same name as they try to reconcile the oppressive regime of Iran, overbearing parents, ancient Persian beliefs, and modern American values. The 224-page black-and-white trade paperback set has an MSRP of $19.99 and will be stores in July.

Mathilde Ramadier and Anais Depommier’s Sartre examines the varied life of philosopher, writer, and activist Jean-Paul Sartre. The 160-page, full-color hardcover has an MSRP of $27.99 and will be in stores in August.
