Paizo Inc. will launch an organized play program to coincide with the release of its new Starfinder Roleplaying Game at Gen Con this August.
The Starfinder Society will be patterned after Paizo’s other RPG OP program, the Pathfinder Society, with regular published adventures, the ability of players to join factions that offer in-game benefits, and other incentives for regular participation. The new program will be spearheaded by Pathfinder Society veterans Tonya Woldridge, John Compton, and Thurston Hillman. Though the two programs will be separate, with their own rules and storylines, existing Pathfinder Society members will be able to use their existing accounts for the new program.
The program will launch on August 17, at Gen Con, with three scenarios, a pre-generated character special event, and a quest pack. Additional scenarios are scheduled monthly.
Paizo will release a full wave of Starfinder titles at Gen Con, releasing them into the trade after the convention (see “Paizo Aims for the Stars at Gen Con”).
