Panini America revealed at GAMA Trade Show that it will launch the Meta-X Justice League TCG this summer.  Images for the first set, which will be over 250 cards, will be drawn from New 52-era art.

The Meta-X game engine (in which the “X” stands for “X-Over”) is a key feature for the future development of the game, in that it accommodates multiple IPs; Panini plans to launch Meta-X TCGs tied to other IPs, and players will be able to use cards from multiple IPs in the same game.

The gameplay will allow easy entry into the game, with new players able to learn to play in five minutes, a Panini spokesperson told ICv2.

The Meta-X Justice League TCG will be seen first at San Diego Comic-Con, with trade release to follow.

The new TCG will be sold in a Starter and Booster configuration and prices similar to Panini’s recently retired Dragon Ball Z TCG (see “’Dragon Ball Z TCG’ Ceases Production”).

The timing of the launch is propitious; Warner Bros.’ Justice League film will premiere November 17 (see “Best in Shows – Q4 2017”).
