Diamond Comic Distributors and AfterShock Comics have signed an exclusive worldwide deal for English-speaking countries which includes distribution rights to comic book specialty stores and book trade through its sister company Diamond Book Distributors.
AfterShock Comics launched in April 2015, headed by former Marvel Executive Editor Mike Marts and Eisner Award-winning publisher and editor Joe Pruett (see “New Publisher Formed with Marts, Pruett”). The publisher boasts titles from major talent including Garth Ennis (Dreaming Eagles, Jimmy’s Bastards), Warren Ellis (Shipwreck), Brian Azzarello (American Monster), Paul Jenkins (Replica and Alters) and team Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti (SuperZero). A new title from John layman (Chew) and Sam Kieth (The Maxx) releases in April (see “Layman and Kieth Team on New AfterShock Series”).
“We are all very excited about advancing our relationship with Diamond to this next level,” said AfterShock’s Publisher and CCO Joe Pruett. “Not only will we now be able to reach more outlets, but it will become much easier for retailers to more accurately order our titles.”
ICv2 recently interviewed Mike Marts for its Business 3x3 column (see “ Business 3x3: Mike Marts At Aftershock Comics”).
Diamond also recently signed a distribution deal with game publisher Green Ronin (see “Green Ronin / Diamond Distribution Agreement”).
