Despite a hilariously poor review by noted film critic Roger Ebert (zero stars), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, reportedly even more violent and gory than the original, was the top box office grossing movie over its opening weekend, topping $28 million.
More licensed product may become available given the movie's success, but there are a number that are currently in the pipeline or recently released. The 30th Anniversary DVD of the original classic film, with deleted scenes and outtakes, was released last Tuesday. The Leatherface 12' Figure from Sideshow Toys (MSRP of $40) is due out any day now. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Companion is due out in January from Titan. Other products include a movie poster and t-shirt, both from the original movie.
