Dynamite Entertainment has announced a new comic miniseries that declassifies Bettie Page’s exploits in 1950s Hollywood as a spy, launching in July.

The story is written by David Avallone (Doc Savage: The Ring of Fire, The Twilight Zone: The Shadow), with art by Colton Worely The Shadow, Project Superpowers: Blackcross). “After a lot of research into the life and times of Bettie, I chose to put her in Hollywood at the start of the fifties and the beginning of her modeling career,” said Avallone. “It's all fictional, of course, but it's built on some corners of her real biography, and the real history of the time. I hope I've made my fictional Bettie as funny, as sweet, as sharp, as tough, and as delightful as the real one."

Covers for Bettie Page #1 will be provided by Terry Dodson, Colton Worley, Joseph Michael Linsner, and Scott Chantler. Limited variant editions in "Black & White," "Virgin Art," and "Black Bag" formats are also available as retailer incentives.

Dynamite announced the license to produce new Bettie Page material at New York Comic Con (see “'James Bond,' 'Bettie Page,' 'Vampirella,' More”).
