Casual and family game publisher Daily Magic Games is venturing into deeper strategic waters with its first Euro-style board game Sailing Toward Osiris releasing in Q2 2018. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Sailing Toward Osiris, designed by W. David MacKenzie (Ogre Castle), is a worker placement game where players are governors of ancient Egypt, competing to win the right to bury the Pharaoh, and thus become the next ruler of Egypt. Over four seasons, as the Pharaoh’s funeral barge travels down the Nile, players gather resources, visit cities, utilize laborers, and build monuments. The goal is to amass the most Glory Points through carefully timed actions, efficient resource use and careful monument placement.

The box contains: 5 Player Screens, 1 Rule Book, 25 City Cards, 25 Boon Cards, 1 Regent Chit, 3 Bonus Cover Chits, 1 Draw Bag, 166 Wooden Tokens (30 Grain, 30 Stone, 30 Brick, 20 Obelisks, 12 Laborers, 15 Sphinxes, 3 Master Laborers, 10 Pylons, 5 Score, 5 Withdraw, 1 Barge & 5 Camels), 1 Game Box and Insert, 1 Game Board, plus Unlocked Standard Stretch Goals. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 90 minutes. MSRP is $60.00.

The Kickstarter has exceeded its goal of $25,000, and has 8 days remaining. There is a retailer level for six copies of the game for a small deposit, with the balance due when the games are ready to ship.
