Underground art and comics publisher Last Gasp is offering an interesting slate of titles this fall.

Who Killed Hunter S. Thompson? Collects the memories and appreciations of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s friends and co-conspirators. It includes transcripts of his rants, phone messages, The Gonzo master’s Midnight Faxes, The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved, and a lengthy introduction by Warren Hinckle III. The 520-page hardcover has an MSRP of $39.95. Release is planned for September.

Neverlasting Miracles – The Art of Todd Schorr is a career retrospective of the surrealist painter. It includes pieces spanning his 30-year career, as well as 87 new pieces. There are 33 new paintings, as well as color studies, drawings, and images of his sculptural art. The 304-page cloth hardcover (with dustjacket) has an MSRP of $75.00. Release is planned for November.

Hi-Fructose Collected Edition Volume 4 will feature prints, extras, art, interviews and features compiled from the magazine Hi-Fructose. The material will be taken from issues 13 – 16, including art from Ron English, Kazuki Takamatsu, Mia Brownell, Lori Earley, Jeff Soto, Miss Van, Kate MacDowell and many others. The 320-page hardcover edition has an MSRP of $39.95. A limited-edition box set (2,500) will also include a mask by Victor Castillo, a poster by Jennybird Alcantara, a sticker book, and a set of prints, packaged in a ribbon-tied deluxe box. MSRP is $75.00. Release is planned for November.

The Art of Tiki by Sven Kristen and Otto von Stroheim, is co-published by Last Gasp and La Luz de Jesus Press. The book presents contemporary Tiki style as well as the original mid-century Polynesian pop that inspired it. The book will be published in conjunction with the La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s 20th Anniversary Tiki Art Exhibition. The 176-page hardcover will release in October.

Baghdad Burning is a graphic novel by Toufic El Rassi that esoteric history of the U.S. and western powers intervention in the Middle East. It covers the events that led to the area’s conflict and instability, a subject not discussed by western powers. The 13-page B&W paperback has an MSRP of $16.95 Release is planned for October or November.
