Alexander Pfister and Andreas Pelikan’s tile-laying /territory building game won the prestigious 2016 Kennerspiel des Jahres (see “'Spiel des Jahres' 2016 Winner Announced”). Now Isle of Skye: Journeyman expands the game by adding new personal player boards to track progress in strength, prosperity, and popularity of the would-be kings. As each progressive requirement is met, the conditions affecting tile selling and placement change. There is also a new pawn (the journeyman) who helps the chieftain by traveling the kingdom and “activating” the tiles. The expansion also includes four new scoring tiles that represent new challenges to achieve.
The box contains 4 new scoring tiles, 8 new landscape tiles, 7 gold coins, 15 roads, 5 "50/100" VP markers in each of the 5 player colors: 1 progress board, 6 markers, 9 bonus tiles, 1 journeyman pawn, and 1 rulebook. As an expansion, it requires the base game to play. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 75 minutes.
