Casting for the Captain Marvel feature Is proceeding, with the villain cast and negotiations underway to fill the male lead.  Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes) is in negotiations for the role of the male lead, according to Variety.  Law will play Doctor Walter Lawson (Mar-Vell), who mentors Carol Danvers as she learns her new powers.

Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One) will play the villain, which has not yet been revealed.

Captain Marvel will star Brie Larson and be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (see "’Captain Marvel,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3,' 'Avengers 4,' Groot Charity").  The character is also being integrated into Avengers 4 (see "Captain Marvel Confirmed for Another MCU Film").

Captain Marvel will be released March 8, 2019 (see "Best in Shows – Q1 2019").
