Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment has partnered with South Korean mobile game developer Com2us to expand the Summoners War franchise. Under the deal, Summoners War will move into different media, including comics and an animated series. Kirkman and Skybound’s David Alpert and Catherine Winder will oversee the expansion.

Among the projects is an origin story for Summoners War, the incredibly popular mobile MMO. Since its 2014 release, the fantasy game has 80 million downloads and has raised one billion dollars in revenue.

Earlier this year, Skybound forged another key partnership with Amazon Studios. Kirkman parted ways with longtime partner AMC to make the move, which garnered a first-look deal for Skybound and finds Kirkman in a leadership role over Amazon’s genre television projects (see “Robert Kirkman Leaves AMC”).
