Captain America will reach the 700th issue milestone on April 4. Marvel wraps up the “Out of Time” story arc with an oversized issue by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee. The issue will also sport two variant covers from Jim Steranko and Jim Lee. The issue also features an untold tale from Cap’s past, written by Waid and featuring artwork by the great Jack Kirby.

Steranko provided Captain America variant covers for various Marvel titles throughout 2016-17 in recognition of Cap’s 75th anniversary. His Captain America #700 cover has a similar style to some of the anniversary covers (see “Preview: Marvel's Year-Long Run of Jim Steranko Variants”).

The variant from Lee features artwork of Captain America originally published in Uncanny X-Men #268. The piece has been recolored and polished for the Captain America #700 cover.
