Italian publisher Ares Games has licensed the Battlestar Galactica property to produce and distribute a starship combat miniature game worldwide. Battlestar Galactica – Starship Battles will include both the “Classical” and “Reimagined” settings.

Battlestar Galactica – Starship Battles will be designed by Andrea Angiolino and Andrea Mainini (Wings of Glory, Sails of Glory), and will feature pre-painted and assembled miniatures, with a special base to support its unique game mechanics. The mechanics will allow players to simulate space combat with simple and intuitive rules to imitate the dynamics of the TV show battles. Players will control one or more Colonial and Cylon ships and face off in dogfights and other kinds of missions.

Final release date has not been set, but the game will be unveiled at Gen Con 2018.

Ares licensed Battlestar Galactica from Universal Brand Development, and the deal includes both the classic 1970s series created by Glen A. Larson, and the re-imagined series developed by Ronald D. Moore and David Eirck that aired in various forms from 2003 through 2010.
