Mike Mearls, a prolific freelance roleplaying game designer since 1999, has joined Monte (Arcana Unearthed) Cook at Malhavoc Press.  In addition to being a game designer, Mearls will write support projects alone and with Cook.

 

After having produced a variety of works for numerous companies in the gaming industry, such as Decipher, Fantasy Flight, Atlas Games and Mongoose Publishing, Mearls will now write d20 material exclusively for Malhavoc Press.

 

The first project by Mearls for Malhavoc is a 64-page sourcebook on sale in December, Mystic Secrets:  The Lore of Word and Rune, with in-depth material about the unique magic system.

 

Legacy of the Dragons, a bestiary for Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed scheduled for May release, will be the first book co-authored by Mearls and Cook.  Following that, they will team up for the 64-page Book of Hallowed Might II:  Portents and Visions, to be released in July.

 

Malhavoc Press, distributed by White Wolf Games, is best known for Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed (see 'Gen Con Bigger in Indy') and the award-winner, Book of Eldritch Might.
