The original She-Ra: Princess of Power series centered on Princess Adora, the twin sister of Prince Adam (He-Man), who bears the Sword of Protection, granting her the power to transform into She-Ra. The series debuted in 1985 as a companion series to He-Man to appeal to young girls.
With a title like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, it appears the reboot won’t focus on Princess Adora alone. Much like Stevenson’s comics work, which also includes Lumberjanes, audiences can probably expect a supportive and varied circle of friends around Adora. “She–Ra was ahead of its time,” Stevenson told EW. “I’m so excited to bring these stories of female power and love and friendship back now when it seems like we need them more than ever.”
